We are a Social Work and Therapeutic Company based in the North West of England. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic candidate, with relevant experience working with children and young people, to join our team. This permanent position is well suited to an individual that is looking to develop their own skills whilst delivering excellent services to those in need.
About the position
The role is extremely varied and includes working to provide our Children’s Rights Service for Oldham, leading sessions at our Contact Centre and working directly with children and young people, for example through delivering life story work. We are currently a small, hardworking team looking to expand our services, making it a really exciting time to join our organisation.
You will be based within our Burnley office, and will work closely with our Service Manager and other members of the team, to provide an outstanding service for children and young people. The post may include travelling weekly to Oldham for advocacy and independent visiting purposes. We also offer a wide range of social work and therapeutic services, and all staff play a part in ensuring they are delivered successfully.
Providing or ensuring the provision of children’s rights services for children and young people in the care of Oldham Local Authorities.
Working as part of Cuffe and Lacey’s wider organisation providing a mixture of individual and group interventions with parents, carers, children and young people.
Working with families attending Cuffe and Lacey contact centre, as well as providing additional support to other services we provide such as Life Story Work.
Please note – any tasks would be fully discussed and explained, and Cuffe and Lacey would ensure you are fully equipped and trained for any services you are involved in.
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in relevant field e.g. Health, social care, early years, adult education, education, working with parents
Registration with any appropriate body for qualifications where this applies
Direct experience of working with children and families.
Understanding of child protection policies and procedures and the importance of safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults.
Experience of setting appropriate professional boundaries with families.
Practical knowledge and experience of working with vulnerable families and being aware of any issues a practitioner may face while working with vulnerable families.
English and Maths GCSE at grade A-C or equivalent.
Knowledge of IT including Microsoft Office Products
Full Driving Licence
This post has the following special circumstances:
Mainly based in Burnley, Oldham and across Lancashire, but will at times need to travel across a wide geographical area.
Flexible working required to include some evenings and occasional weekend work.
A current full driving licence.
