Family Centre

Our Family Centre is a place where family members can spend time with children. A family centre is sometimes referred to as a contact centre, and we are accredited by NACCC, the National Association of Child Contact Centres. We understand family time is really important, and hope to make this time special for everyone at our centre.

What is our Family Centre like?

Our centre is a safe, friendly and neutral place where children can spend time with one or both parents, and sometimes other family members. We hope to provide a child centred environment that puts the needs of the children first.

Where are our centres?

We have a centre in Burnley which is easy to access by train, bus and car.

What is it like?

The most important people at our centre are the children. We want to create a warm, sociable atmosphere where you and your children can relax and enjoy yourselves. The Centre has a variety of games, toys and books for children of all ages.

Tea, coffee and other refreshments are provided. You may want to bring along some favourite toys, special drinks, or other things you might need such as nappies.

Who can use our centre?

We can accept referrals from parents, family members, solicitors or local authorities. We’re always happy to talk you through our process and see how best we can help.

Who will be at the centre?

Our centre is run by fully trained volunteers or staff. They are impartial, so they do not take sides. They work to a strict confidentiality policy and have all been through an enhanced DBS check.

How many sessions can we have?

We are a short term centre, which means we can only offer between 4-6 sessions. We would always ask that families have a plan for after sessions at the centre finish, to make sure that family time can continue wherever possible after using our centre.
